What we saw in testing

We gave Bolt a project management tool to build. Basic prompt: task boards, database persistence, demo mode. Previous models delivered exactly that. Opus 4.6 delivered all of it, then added user authentication without being asked. We didn't prompt for it - the model understood that a real project management app needs auth.

We asked Bolt to build a 3D molecular visualization with real-time updates. Midway through, it hit WebGL performance limits. Previous models would have surfaced the error and stopped. With Opus 4.6, Bolt recognized the constraint, switched to Canvas 2D rendering, and wrote a custom parser to make it work. It solved the problem autonomously.

We connected a project to an external API that started rate-limiting requests. Previous models broke. Bolt with Opus 4.6 identified the root cause, proposed database caching as a solution, and implemented it. We didn't ask for this - it saw the problem and fixed it.
